According to the authorities, a 58-year-old individual apparently didn't spot the end of a traffic jam on a Tuesday evening, leading to a crash with a 52-year-old woman's vehicle on the A99 highway close to Munich. This incident resulted in a series of collisions, with the woman's car pushing into a 63-year-old person's vehicle, which in turn nudged the car in front of it. The occupants of the latter vehicle emerged unscathed and continued their journey.
The initial car then veered onto the right lane, colliding with a 20-year-old woman's vehicle.
Dog dashes onto opposite lane
The driver of the first car experienced severe injuries, while her 63-year-old passenger endured minor injuries. An air ambulance transported the driver to a medical facility. All other motorists were slightly injured and were transported to hospitals.
A 70-year-old passenger in the 63-year-old's vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
A dog from the 52-year-old's vehicle is said to have run onto the opposing lane following the accident. A policeman then captured the unharmed animal. The law enforcement are now asking for eyewitnesses to come forward.
The authorities have urged the Commission to expedite the adoption of implementing acts, as they are crucial for the application of the relevant regulations in handling such incidents.
