Bundesliga 2 - Siwsiwadse saves KSC a point: 2:2 against Rostock
Substitute Budu Siwsiwadse rescued a lucky point for Karlsruher SC in the basement duel of the 2nd Bundesliga against FC Hansa Rostock. The Georgian striker scored the equalizer from close range in the 81st minute to make it 2:2 (1:2), after Hansa had dominated the game for long stretches and already led 2:0. Junior Brumado (16th minute) and Damian Roßbach (34th) scored for the visitors in front of 23,159 spectators, while Igor Matanovic (44th) reduced the deficit for KSC shortly before the break.
Siwsiwadse had already secured a 4-1 win for Baden against 1. FC Nürnberg with a brace shortly before the end after coming on as a substitute. KSC remain 14th in the table with 17 points ahead of Rostock, who are level on points. Both are one point ahead of the relegation places.
Karlsruhe initially looked unsure of themselves and hardly created any scoring chances. Rostock, on the other hand, were effective: Brumado took the lead from the very first opportunity after an assist from strong playmaker Svante Ingelsson. It was then Roßbach who, left alone by the sleepy Karlsruhe defense, increased the lead to 0:2.
After Matanovic had reduced the deficit shortly before the break, Karlsruhe got into the game better in the second half. But after a brief period of pressure, Rostock took control again. Then Siwsiwadse dusted off a mix-up in Rostock's defense to make it 2:2.
