- Siwsiwadse has been sacked by Klose for his debut as Nuremberg coach.
Budu Siwsiwadse couldn't stop smiling. After scoring three goals in the first matchday of the 2. Bundesliga for Karlsruher SC, the striker was clear about his performance. "That was my best performance so far," he said after the 3:2 (1:2) win against 1. FC Nürnberg, coached by former World Cup winner Miroslav Klose.
The KSC had been trailing 0:2 before Siwsiwadse scored in added time of the first half. He then added two more goals between the 73rd and 79th minute, completing his hat-trick. "I've scored several hat-tricks at home, but never in another country," said Siwsiwadse.
He almost single-handedly ensured that the three points stayed at the Wildpark. Coach Christian Eichner thought the win was "deserved in the end". However, he must have breathed a sigh of relief that the KSC started the season with a win, after the squad overhaul in the summer break. "It's a good feeling. And we fought hard for a home game in the first matchday, and it paid off today," said Eichner.
"Wild Mouse League"
Initially, however, the North Baden team went behind: Kanji Okunuki (20.) and Florian Pick (31.) made Klose dream of a successful debut. The turning point was around the 35th minute. Before the break, the Karlsruhe team became stronger in front of 30,707 spectators and was rewarded. "I didn't need that so quickly," said Eichner about the emotional rollercoaster. "You can welcome everyone back to hell or the Wild Mouse League."
But the question remains whether Siwsiwadse sees his future with the KSC. "For the moment, yes," said the 30-year-old. "The situation is such that I'm staying. And I'm happy, everyone here loves me, I'm satisfied." He also expressed his commitment to the KSC after the final whistle, striking the club's crest on his shirt with his flat hand.
The following three goals by Budu Siwsiwadse significantly altered the course of the match. Furthermore, Coach Christian Eichner acknowledged the team's hard-fought victory as "deserved in the end."
