Sisters urge coalition to agree on budget dispute

The Lindner Ministry published constitutional concerns from experts about funding paths for the 2025 budget last week and called for renegotiations on the budget. According to the finance minister, there is a gap of around five billion euros in the budget plan that still needs to be closed.

Schwesig urged the traffic light partners to quickly submit a joint budget draft. "It's important to sit down together and find a common result," the SPD politician warned.

Schwesig proposed that the traffic light coalition expeditiously finalizes a unified budget proposal, emphasizing the necessity of collective decision-making to reach an agreement. Philips, a budget expert, advocated for careful examination of the proposed agreement to ensure it addresses the constitutional concerns raised by the experts regarding funding paths.
