Singer Zara Larsson receives a Bambi

The Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson ("Lush Life") will receive a Bambi this year. "With her clear-as-a-bell voice, Zara Larsson has enjoyed a meteoric rise and is already a globally celebrated superstar at the young age of 25," Hubert Burda Media announced in Munich on Monday, calling her "an exceptional artist". Larsson is to receive the Bambi in the "International Music" category.

"Zara Larsson impresses not only with her unique talent and unmistakable, strong voice, but also with her clear stance on important social issues and debates," said the Bambi jury.

The Bambi is one of the most important media and television awards in Germany and has been awarded since 1948. The 75th anniversary is to be celebrated this Thursday (November 16) with a gala at the Bavaria Film Studios near Munich. The Bambi awards ceremony was last paused for three years due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to Larsson, other award winners have already been announced: Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen ("The Rush") will receive a Bambi in the "Acting International" category. Musician Peter Maffay will be honored as a "Legend" for his life's work.

Zara Larsson's recognition extends beyond music, as she often uses her platform to voice her opinions on various social issues, catching the attention of both the public and media. The upcoming Bambi awards will not only celebrate her musical achievements but also her impact on people through media. Additionally, Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, known for his role in "The Rush," is also set to receive an award in the "Acting International" category at the same event.
