Berlin musician Frank Zander (81) has been discharged after a good week in hospital. "The whole family is very, very happy that he was allowed to leave the hospital," his son Marcus Zander told the German Press Agency on Monday. The musician will then receive further treatment in January. "We are confident that he will be back to his old self." The "Berliner Zeitung" had previously reported on this.

Zander was taken to hospital just over a week ago and treated at the Charité hospital in Berlin. He was tired and weak and almost fell asleep while eating, explained his son Marcus. The traditional Christmas party organized by Frank Zander for the homeless and needy in Berlin is to take place again next Friday. If his father is well again, he will attend and at least briefly greet the guests on stage, said his son.
