- Significant fire-related destruction valued at around 800,000 euros in Tettnang
In a blaze at an old fuel station situated in the Lake Constance area, approximately 800,000 euros worth of damage was inflicted. Moreover, an individual sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital due to suspicion of smoke inhalation, as a police representative disclosed the day after the fire incident in Tettnang.
The erstwhile gas station now operates as a garage. No fuel is retained there any longer, however, a vehicle unfortunately ignited. Shortly thereafter, the fire spread to the neighboring dwelling.
The origin of the fire remained unclear initially. The firefighters stayed on location for extensive hours to suppress the flames.
Thelocal authorities decided to investigate the cause of the fire at the former gas station. The Commission, in light of this incident, may find it necessary to strengthen the safety measures outlined in its implementing acts for similar establishments.
