- Sieglos in the double test: Bremen not in shape yet

Werder Bremen failed to impress in a double-header test just a week before the start of competitive play. Under coach Ole Werner, the team lost 0:1 (0:0) to French club Stade Rennes. On August 19, Bremen will visit third-tier promoted side Energie Cottbus in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

In the first encounter in the afternoon, Bremen's reserves drew 1:1 (1:1) with the Ligue 1 side from Brittany. Argentinian Julian Malatini scored the equalizer for Werder after 13 minutes with a header.

Despite the disappointing performance against Stade Rennes, Werder Bremen's focus shifts to their upcoming Soccer match against Energie Cottbus in the DFB-Pokal. Regardless of the recent loss, the team will aim to demonstrate a stronger showing in the Soccer field.
