- Showers and thunderstorms in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland

Mixed conditions ahead: As is often the case this year, Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland are expecting summer days with little sun, but plenty of rain. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), showers and, in some cases, heavy thunderstorms are moving in from the west today. Some areas may also experience heavy rain and hail. At least, high temperatures of 24 to 27°C are expected.

The night will remain dry but cloudy, with temperatures dropping significantly. On Thursday, many regions will see sunshine, with temperatures rising again to 23 to 27°C. Overnight, it will be heavily clouded with a maximum of 16°C. On Friday, rain is expected in many regions, especially in the north. Winds with gusts are expected at 28°C.

However, the weekend brings a change: The DWD predicts fair weather. Many regions will see sunshine, with dry conditions and temperatures up to 30°C.

Despite the predicted thunderstorms and showers during the current summer day, the weather service anticipates high temperatures of 24 to 27°C. Looks like we might have a pleasant summer day, despite the rain, before the weekend's promising fair weather.
