- Shots fired in Lichtenberg - Police secure weapon
The police searched a man at Berlin's Lichtenberg station who was allegedly firing into the air multiple times. In the afternoon, an anonymous tip was received about the incident, as reported by the Federal Police. Deployment forces from the Berlin Police and Federal Police found three men still on the platform. They secured a so-called soft air weapon from a 30-year-old German man.
An eyewitness described how the man had fired into the air several times. The 30-year-old is already known to the police for several different criminal offenses.
Investigations against two men
The officers found a telescopic baton with a 35-year-old companion of the man, who was carrying it in his waistband. The 35-year-old is not yet known to the police.
The Federal Police has initiated investigations against both persons, who are now at large, on suspicion of violating the Weapons Act and secured video recordings.
The Federal Police played a crucial role in the investigation, reporting an anonymous tip about the incident at Lichtenberg station. Despite the deployment of both Berlin Police and Federal Police, the suspects managed to escape, leading to ongoing investigations against them by the Federal Police.
