Alarm gun - Shooter jumps off e-scooter while fleeing from police

In evasion from the police, a man threw an E-Scooter to the side and ran into a residential area after shooting with a weapon resembling a gun in a forest in Hechingen (Zollernalbkreis). A gamekeeper had observed him on Saturday and alerted the police. The suspect, who is 19 years old, fled on foot according to reports when he saw the approaching patrol car.

Later, the police discovered him during a vehicle check as part of the search operation on the passenger seat of a car. He reportedly handed over the weapon voluntarily to the officers. The 19-year-old is known to the police for various offenses, according to a spokesperson. An investigation is now being conducted against him for violating the Firearms Act.

And also the 19-year-old driver of the car was drawn into the spotlight of the investigators: He was reportedly driving under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.

The abandoned E-Scooter, which the man had tossed aside during his escape, was later found by the authorities in the Zollernalb district. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the alarm on the E-Scooter had been triggered during the incident. The suspect's actions led to a heightened security presence in the area, with the local police and even officers from neighboring Baden-Württemberg's Zollernalb district joining the search. After the suspect's arrest, the car he had been in was towed away by the Hechingen police for further examination.
