- Ships collisions might not halt ferry services entirely

Following the clash between the Rhine ferry near Eich and Gernsheim and a tank motor vessel, surprisingly, the former kept functioning. According to a law enforcement officer, the vehicle ferry picked up its routine crossings over the Rhine on the very same Saturday, post the mishap. It seems the ferry captain allowed other vessels to pass during a voyage, yet overlooked the tank motor ship. Luckily, no casualties were reported during the crash. Both watercraft encountered damages to their assets, yet their buoyancy remained unaffected. The car ferry halted its operations briefly. At the time of incident, there were three cars carrying a total of six individuals aboard. The exact extent of the damage was initially undetermined.

The car ferry, despite hailing from Hessen, managed to continue its operations on the Rhine after the incident. Later that day, a report was submitted to authorities in Hessen, detailing the events surrounding the collision.
