State Office of Criminal Investigation - Sexual violence against children: searches throughout Hesse
In investigations into sexual violence against children, the police once again searched homes across Hesse last week. This time, 53 homes were affected, the Hessian State CriminalPolice Office(LKA) in Wiesbaden announced on Monday. A child sex doll was found in the home of a 27-year-old man in the Bergstrasse district. In addition, the almost 200 officers seized more than 540 cell phones, computers, laptops and USB sticks during the searches, and the data is now being analyzed.
A total of 53 men and three women aged up to 79 are being investigated. Five of them are accused of sexual abuse of children and young people. The others are alleged to have acquired, possessed or distributed child and youth pornography. According to the investigations so far, there had been no exchange between the accused.
The cases are being handled by the "BAO Fokus" police unit, which specializes in the fight against child abuse and has over 300 employees. It pursues sex offenders throughout Hesse, repeatedly conducting large-scale searches of homes.
