Several searches on suspicion of child pornography
Investigators have searched eleven properties in northern Upper Bavaria on suspicion of child pornography material. As the police announced on Thursday, the suspects, aged between 16 and 60, are suspected of having received, stored or sent images of sexual abuse of minors. In total, the investigators seized more than 700 data carriers during the operation in the districts of Erding, Freising and Ebersberg on Tuesday.
Some of these were found to contain images of abuse. In some cases, the suspects had admitted to the crimes, the police said. In two cases, suspects were even in the process of downloading further files when the investigators showed up.
Special sniffer dogs were also used during the searches to find electronic storage media such as hard drives and USB sticks.
Despite the efforts to combat child pornography, unfortunate reports of this nature continue to emerge in Upper Bavaria. For instance, investigations recently uncovered instances of child pornography in some homes in Upper Bavaria's Erding, Freising, and Ebersberg districts.
