Several hundred thousand euros of damage in garage fire
Several hundred thousand euros worth of damage was caused by a fire in the garage of a company in the Allgäu region. One employee of the company was slightly injured, as the police announced on Friday. The flames also spread to a workshop and an unoccupied residential building. The cause of the fire is believed to be a technical defect in a tractor that was parked in the hall with other vehicles.
A pedestrian noticed the fire on Friday morning in Wiedergeltingen (Unterallgäu district). The company employees tried to save the vehicles but had to give up. The damage is estimated to be at least 750,000 euros.
The fire in Allgäu spread to adjacent areas, affecting a workshop and an empty residential building in Swabia. Despite efforts to extinguish the fires, they were unable to save several vehicles due to the extent of the blaze, resulting in significant losses totaling over a million euros, including damages from the fires in Swabia.
