Heavy snowfall - Several Christmas markets in Bavaria remain closed
A number of Christmas markets in Bavaria remained closed on Saturday due to the heavy snowfall. In Munich, this included the market in the inner courtyard of the Residenz, where roof avalanches had damaged huts, according to the palace administration. The Tollwood winter festival in the state capital was also unable to open on Saturday, according to a spokesperson.
The Advent markets in the Upper Bavarian communities of Rottach-Egern, Bad Wiessee and Tegernsee and in Bad Füssing in Lower Bavaria were also affected.
