At a sizable housing compound in Wernigerode, an inferno ignited. As per law enforcement statements, a grand total of four flats required evacuation following the ignition of flames in a 21-year-old lady's abode before dawn on Saturday. Around eighteen individuals were evacuated from the building. The projected financial damage is approximated to be 100,000 euros. The source of the fire remains elusive.

No harm was reported, according to police. Two individuals underwent checks as a precaution but did not necessitate hospitalization. A police representative expressed gratitude and relief that the blaze did not extend its reach beyond bounds in the large housing compound situated in the north of Wernigerode.

Examinations into the cause of the fire will commence on Monday. New lodgings have been made accessible for the impacted residents. As per police, 38 firefighters mobilized themselves for combating the flames.

Despite the fire affecting several residents, all women in the compound were safely evacuated. The affected lady and another woman underwent medical checks due to the incident.
