Seven injured after restaurant roof truss fire

A dark column of smoke was visible for miles around. Several people were injured in the fire at a restaurant in Dreieich in the Offenbach district.

Fires - Seven injured after restaurant roof truss fire

At a roof truss fire in a restaurant in the south Hessian Dreieich-Sprendlingen, seven people have been lightly injured. A police spokesperson announced this on Sunday. At the fire on the Saturday afternoon, strong smoke developed, as the fire department reported. The police warned people in the vicinity to keep windows and doors closed. During the firefighting efforts, a drone was also in use. The investigations into the cause and progression of the fire are ongoing. Initially, it was unknown whether the injured were visitors of the restaurant. The police estimate the damage at 300,000 Euro.

The fire occurred in a restaurant located in Dreieich-Sprendlingen, which is part of south Hesse. The fire department responded to the roof truss fire on Saturday afternoon. Despite the use of a drone during firefighting efforts, a strong smoke column still formed. Offenbach police issued a warning for people in the vicinity to close their windows and doors due to the smoke.
