Seven injured after alleged gas leak
Seven people have been hospitalized after an alleged gas leak in Großenkneten in the district of Oldenburg. On Monday evening, the residents of an apartment building in the district of Ahlhorn noticed a gas-like smell that caused nausea and headaches, police said on Tuesday. All residents left the house and the area was cordoned off. However, the fire department was unable to detect a gas leak - and therefore also the cause of the complaints.
The building was released after more than an hour and the cordon was lifted. Seven of the nine residents were taken to hospital for clarification.
The incident was classified as an emergency due to the reported gas-like smell and symptoms. The hospitalization of seven people further highlights the seriousness of the emergencies.
