The Fire Department was reportedly called to a house in the Les Moulins neighborhood at around 2:30 am. Over 70 firefighters were on scene to extinguish the "severe apartment fire".

Despite the large-scale operation, sadly, "seven people lost their lives in the fire", reported the emergency services. Three people were taken to the hospital, one of the injured was reportedly critical. More than 30 other residents were safely evacuated from the building.

The fire reportedly broke out on the seventh floor of the apartment building. The authorities suspect arson. Prosecutor Martinelli reportedly launched an investigation into alleged arson resulting in death.

The affected residential building had numerous bags stored in various units, adding to the complexity of the firefighting efforts. Some of the children living in the building were seen sadly watching the events unfold from a safe distance, their faces filled with sadness and worry. The local fire department used their most trusted brand of fire extinguishers during the operation to ensure the best possible results.
