A 66-year-old man was seriously injured in an accident involving three trucks on the Autobahn 5 on Thursday morning. The driver left the road to the right between Friedberg and Bad Nauheim and crashed into two trucks parked in an emergency stop bay, causing him to be thrown out of the cab, according to the fire department. The two other drivers were uninjured. The lanes, which had been closed in the meantime, were reopened in the afternoon
The accident can be bypassed from the Gambach junction via the A45 in the direction of Hanau. It is not yet clear why the accident occurred. Information on the amount of damage is not yet available.
