Enzkreis - Serious rear-end collision on the A8: truck driver injured
A truck driver has been seriously injured in a rear-end collision on the Autobahn 8 near Friolzheim in the Enzkreis district. A police spokeswoman said that a truck had crashed into another truck at the end of a traffic jam on the fully closed road on Thursday, denting the driver's cab of the oncoming truck. No further details were initially released.
Previously, the highway had been fully closed in the direction of Stuttgart due to a burning car on the hard shoulder near Pforzheim. It remained unclear why the car caught fire, but the driver was able to escape. The car burned out completely. The route towards Karlsruhe was also fully closed due to fuel leaking onto the opposite carriageway.
