A 20-year-old passenger has died in hospital following a serious traffic accident in Straelen on the Lower Rhine despite immediate rescue measures. According to a police report, the young man was sitting in the car of a man of the same age from Grefrath who, according to initial investigations, veered off the road to the left for an as yet unexplained reason and crashed into a tree.
The passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was freed from the wreckage by the fire department. However, all the efforts of the doctors in the ambulance and at the hospital were in vain. According to the statement, the relatives were looked after by the police 's victim protection team. An accident investigation team and an expert were called in to clarify the cause of the accident.
