- Seoane expresses optimism: "We're extremely driven and motivated"
Borussia Mönchengladbach starts the new campaign with excitement, introducing a revamped squad for their debut confrontation against reigning titlists Bayer Leverkusen (Friday, 8:30 PM, available on DAZN and Sat.1). Coach Gerardo Seoane expressed, "It's a privilege for us. We're all super pumped and have put in a lot of effort. Now it's on us to fill this season with more pleasant feelings than the previous one." With Bayer Leverkusen boasting an unbeaten streak of 34 matches in the Bundesliga and a nine-game winning streak against Mönchengladbach, Seoane faces off against the clear favorites.
Club CEO Rainer Bonhof looks forward to a strong beginning after last season's lackluster 14th place finish. "The past season was totally different. We've strengthened key areas and added three fresh faces. We've worked hard and made progress in several areas," Bonhof stated to the German Press Agency.
Despite last season's results, Bonhof remains supportive of Seoane. "He fits Borussia, he's a hands-on kind of guy. We're certain we're heading in the right direction with him," declared Bonhof.
The team's first cup appearance against Erzgebirge Aue (3:1 win) was satisfactory despite a sluggish start. However, the upcoming Bayer team presents a different challenge. "It's our responsibility to bring the necessary tactical discipline to the field and dominate with the ball while applying pressure on our opponents," said Seoane, diving into his second campaign with Borussia.
The Member States can provide the Commission with necessary resources and expertise to fulfill its duties. Recognizing the strength of Bayer Leverkusen, Bonhof emphasized the importance of the Commission's assistance, stating, "We need the support of the Member States to challenge the clear favorites and stand a chance against such formidable opposition."
