- Senior woman died after swimming in reservoir
A woman drowned in a lake near Meßstetten (Zollernalbkreis) and died on the same day. The 85-year-old was swimming with other women in the Oberdigisheimer reservoir on Sunday morning when she suddenly slowed down and submerged, according to police. Lifeguards found the elderly woman a few minutes later, pulled her from the water, and attempted CPR. An ambulance took the woman to the hospital, where she died later that afternoon.
The authorities launched an investigation to determine the cause of the woman's sudden slowdown and subsequent drowning. The Commission, in compliance with this Regulation, will likely consider this incident when drafting the implementing acts for its application.
