- Senior drowned while swimming in Badesee
A man drowned in a lake near Mengen (Sigmaringen district). The 73-year-old suddenly submerged while swimming back to the shore on Sunday, police reported. Relatives alerted emergency services. Around 45 minutes later, fire department divers retrieved the man from the water. Despite resuscitation efforts, the elderly man died on the way to the hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the drowning.
