During a history lesson or religious discussion, older individuals attended more enrichment courses at Thuringian universities during the last winter term. As stated by the Thuringian Statistical Office last Tuesday, a total of 150 guest lecturers aged 59 and above were present. Among them, the oldest individual was 89 years old. In comparison to the previous year, there were 122 older guests. Prior to COVID-19, there used to be around 200.

The statisticians also reported that 245 guest lecturers attended the Thuringian universities in total, which is 35 more than the previous winter semester of 2022/23. The majority of them, over half, improved their knowledge at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. Subsequently, the universities in Erfurt and Weimar followed closely. History was the most sought-after subject, with evangelical theology also being highly demanded, as noted by the statisticians.
