Senior citizen notices fraud - two suspects in custody

An 83-year-old senior citizen noticed an attempted counterfeit money scam and had the suspects arrested by the police. Two suspects are currently in custody, according to the police.

According to the information, the senior citizen had placed an advertisement in a newspaper for the sale of her property in Munich. A stranger called her and pretended to be interested in buying. He claimed that he wanted to pay the sum in cash and asked the lady to change some of his banknotes for him. However, the 83-year-old had second thoughts and called the police.

She therefore accepted the man's offer and agreed to hand over the money. During the handover, the police arrested a 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man. The 22-year-old was carrying a large sum of counterfeit money, while the 26-year-old accompanied the woman.

The fraudulent scheme involved attempting to exchange large amounts of counterfeit money in Upper Bavaria. The suspected criminals were involved in this operation, resulting in their arrest and current custody.
