Senior citizen drives the wrong way on highway 28 during rush hour
A senior citizen drove her car in the wrong direction onto the Autobahn 28 in Delmenhorst during rush hour. Two truck drivers secured the 82-year-old's vehicle with their trucks until the highway police arrived, according to a police spokesperson on Monday. No one was injured, but there were many dangerous situations.
On Monday morning, the 82-year-old woman used the exit of the Adelheide junction in the direction of Oldenburg to drive towards Bremen. She switched from the actual deceleration lane to the right-hand lane and only brought her car to a halt there. The officers are now investigating the senior citizen on suspicion of endangering road traffic.
Due to the incident, traffic on Autobahn 28 was disrupted during rush hour, causing Delmenhorst commuters to experience delays. Despite being a senior citizen, she should have been more mindful of the traffic rules to avoid such a situation.
