European Soccer Tournament - Senators Obtain Premier Seating for the European Soccer Tournament
All senators and senators are eligible for receiving two complimentary tickets to attend the games of the European Championship in Berlin. This information was confirmed by the Senate Department for Interior and Sport, as they spoke to the German Press Agency. Each individual is entitled to two tickets for every match, with a few exceptions - namely to the governing mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) and SPD interior and sports senator Iris Spranger, who will be given VIP tickets for all the matches in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. These tickets come from the free ticket pool of Host City Berlin.
A project team within the Interior Administration has proposed certain senators to be included in the VIP guest list of UEFA EURO 2024 GmbH. Currently, it is unknown which senators will accept the offer to attend the games, as the "information and assignment process" is yet to be complete.
The president of the Berlin House of Representatives, Cornelia Seibeld, has been extended an invitation to two games at the Olympic Stadium to represent the city. She is considering how she can take part in these events. The tickets cannot be passed on to other people. Spokespersons have confirmed that Vice President of the House of Representatives Bahar Haghanipour (Greens) is also in possession of two tickets.
At this time, the factions of Green, Left, and AfD in the House of Representatives have not received any free tickets for the EM games. This was also confirmed by spokespersons when enquired. The CDU and SPD coalition factions have remained silent on this issue, while the political spokesperson for the Left faction, Carsten Schatz, has been invited to the opening event. Unfortunately, he will be unable to attend.
The European Championship is expected to take place from June 14 to July 14 across Germany, and Berlin is one of the venues for the tournament. There will be a fan zone for public viewing located in front of the Brandenburg Gate. To enforce safety in the capital, the Berlin Police are getting ready for one of the biggest operations in recent times, as declared by Police President Barbara Slowik.
