Senate meeting - Senate wants to provide even better support for Berlin's skilled trades
The Berlin Senate aims to help craft businesses in the capital with a series of issues. This includes the labor shortage, as well as the search for suitable spaces for companies or successors for businesses.
On Tuesday, Economy Senator Franziska Giffey (SPD) will present a total of 26 individual measures at the Rotes Rathaus (10 am). These measures are bundled in the "Action Program 2024-2026" that the Senate intends to adopt. Among other things, there will be more vocational orientation in schools with a focus on crafts, the promotion of dual studies with a crafts focus, and more support for trainees in finding housing.
The "Action Program Craft" is not new. Berlin Crafts and Senate have been working together for a long time. Such agreements on measures have existed before, most recently with 28 measures for the period from 2021 to 2023.
