Enjoying life in its entirety - Senate introduces fresh Berlin rental index
Lately, a provisional rent index for the capital was released last June. But this straightforward rent index didn't rely on data from tenants and landlords, making it more of a temporary solution. Now, a comprehensive survey starting in September intends to build a proper "qualified" rent index which would be in effect for two years.

The SPD, a political party in Berlin, has expressed support for the Senate's initiative to create a more accurate rental index. Despite the high living prices in Berlin, many residents are struggling to find affordable housing due to the inadequacy of the current rental index.
