Several drivers had dialed the emergency hotline to report a ghost driver. That man realized his error when he saw the signal lights of fellow truckers. He eventually halted on the left side of the lane and put his truck into reverse.

He drove backward for a few minutes until he could exit the autobahn again at the Pfreimd interchange. The authorities inspected this fake driver, and he grumbled about the allegedly inadequate signage on the highway.
