Exhibitions - Selfie in the mirror Nerhegeb: Harry Potter exhibition

From Thursday, Harry Potter fans can see magical objects such as the "Talking Hat", the mirror Nerhegeb or the speeding double-decker bus "Traveling Knight" in an exhibition in Cologne. "Visions of Magic" focuses on atmospheric light and sound installations in addition to sculptural models.

For fans, the exhibition is an opportunity to take selfies in places that are modeled on locations from the Harry Potter films and books. Many fans, who were allowed to view the exhibition in advance at a press preview on Wednesday, pulled out their cell phones in Nokturngasse or in the "Room of Wishes". She made "ample" use of the opportunity to take photos, said Potter fan Birgit Lauschus after her visit. Her companion Isabelle Koschinski said: "You feel like you've been transported back to your childhood."

The exhibition is advertised as an "interactive art experience". Visitors are sent through the exhibition equipped with a magic wand. The possibilities are limited, for example, to "conjuring away" "magic fields" on the wall or revealing the view of certain objects. Visitor Koschinski praised the fact that it makes you look at things more attentively than you would otherwise. The elaborately designed exhibition can be seen at the "Odysseum" in Cologne until June 2, 2024.
