Second German team at the biathlon in Schalke
Hanna Kebinger and Benedikt Doll will form the second German team at the "Biathlon auf Schalke" on December 28. This was announced on Wednesday at the Nordicum forum of Nordic ski sports journalists in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria. Roman Rees and Sophia Schneider make up Team Germany I.
"I'm really looking forward to competing in Gelsenkirchen this year. As biathletes, we will have a special experience there - especially at this year's anniversary. It will be spectacular," said Kebinger, who made it onto the German World Championship team last season and competed in all four individual races. She finally won the silver medal with the relay team.
This is not Doll's first time at Schalke. The 2017 sprint world champion has big plans for the 20th edition of the popular event. "Unfortunately, my team didn't manage to win last year. That's why I'm now even more motivated to fight for first place. Especially because it's the 20th anniversary, that would be a great success," said Doll.
Hanna Kebinger and Doll's team will participate in the biathlon event at Schalke, just like Team Germany I led by Roman Rees and Sophia Schneider. Despite finishing second last year, Benedikt Doll is eager to secure the first place this year, as it's the 20th anniversary of the popular biathlon event in Schalke.
