The Austrian police have identified a second body found in the Bodensee. It is an 83-year-old Swiss man from Chur, who had been missing since May 2021, according to the police statement. His identity was determined through a DNA match.

On June 22nd, two male bodies were found in the eastern Bodensee. In late June, the police identified one of the deceased as a 79-year-old man from Chur in German Bavaria.

According to an Austrian police spokesperson, there is no information available about a connection between the two deaths. The 79-year-old had been missing since November. In both cases, the authorities do not suspect foul play.

The Bodensee, extending into Germany and Austria, has been the site of two recent unfortunate incidents. Last month, Swiss authorities in Chur reported a missing 83-year-old man, whose body was later discovered by the Austrian police. Similarly, in German Bavaria, another 79-year-old man from Chur went missing, and his body was found in the Bodensee later. Both incidents occurred near Lake Constance, situated on the border of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The police in each country did not find any signs of foul play in either case, and they are currently investigating if there's a connection between the two accidents.
