The town of Sebnitz will host the "Day of the Saxons" in 2025. The Saxon State Chancellery announced on Tuesday in Dresden that the board of trustees of the state festival had awarded the town in Saxon Switzerland the contract to host the event. This is the second time that Sebnitz has hosted the "Day of the Saxons". The first edition in 2003 attracted 255,000 visitors to the town. In 2025, the festival is planned for September 5 to 7.

"The city has already successfully demonstrated its organizational strength on several occasions and will be an excellent host for our "Day of the Saxons", said the President of the Board of Trustees, State Parliament President Matthias Rößler, according to the press release.

The "Day of the Saxons" has been organized since 1992. From 2025, the festival will no longer be held annually but only every two years due to the high cost of such major events.
