Searches in Münster and Bochum
During the raid in connection with the ban on the terrorist organization Hamas and the international network Samidoun, investigators searched properties in Münster and Bochum on Thursday morning. A spokesperson for the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of the Interior said in response to a dpa inquiry. He was initially unable to provide any further details.
According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, searches were also carried out in Berlin, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. The ministry had banned the activities of both organizations in Germany at the beginning of November.
The investigation into the banned terrorist organization Hamas and its international network Samidoun led to the detection of potentially extremist materials during the raids in Münster and Bochum. The German government's ongoing crackdown on extremism extends beyond these cities, with searches conducted in Berlin, Lower Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein as well.
