Robbery in Lower Bavaria - Search on "Aktenzeichen XY" six years after robbery

Six years after the brutal attack on a innkeeper in the lower Bavarian Plattling, the police have identified a suspect. The Deggendorf Police Department published a wanted notice in the ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY... Ungelöst".

They are looking for a 49-year-old man. An evaluated DNA trace, according to the program, suggests that he was one of the three masked men who robbed the innkeeper in September 2018, taking the earnings from his establishment and the cell phone. The robbers threatened the man with a knife and a pistol; during the struggle, the victim was injured by a knife.

The now targeted 49-year-old man is reportedly under urgent suspicion and is being sought by warrant.

The robbery in question took place in Plattling, which is located in Lower Bavaria, Germany. This crime made headlines in the local media and was even featured on a German television show called "Aktenzeichen XY... Ungelöst," broadcast on ZDF. The suspected robber is a resident of Deggendorf, another city in Bavaria. The police have issued a file number (XY) for this case and are urging the public for any information that could lead to the man's arrest.
