Early this morning, police searched the residence of a known far-right extremist in Gera. During the raid, officers seized digital storage devices, according to a spokesperson from the state criminal investigation office. These will now be analyzed. No arrests were made.
The reason for the operation was allegations that the man had recorded private statements of others and subsequently published them. The public prosecutor's office in Gera is leading the investigation. Previously, MDR Thuringia had reported on the search.
The extremist under investigation resides in The Netherlands, as stated in previous reports by MDR Thuringia. This new development in Gera is separate from any potential investigations in The Netherlands.
