In an urgent hunt for the missing nine-year-old girl Valeriia in Dobeln, the police have reached out to the public for assistance. On Wednesday, residents were urged to keep a vigilant eye on their gardens, cellars, garages, and sheds for any sign of the girl. The authorities have also been conducting a large-scale search with several units involved, including teams in Mochau, as informed by the local police station in Chemnitz.

Valeriia is a member of a Ukrainian family and was last spotted on Monday morning. She would typically take the bus to school, but authorities later realized she never made it to school that day. According to recent interviews and video recordings, she may not have boarded the bus on Monday at all.

Dogs with special training were deployed early Wednesday morning, as the police continue their search with heightened intensity. "Area dogs" were used in forests, fields, and meadows, while "rubble dogs" scoured through demolished buildings. Despite these efforts, no new information about Valeriia's whereabouts has surfaced.

The ongoing investigation involves exploring multiple possible leads and scenarios, including potential violent crime. Additional interviews with local residents were scheduled for Wednesday, and a police helicopter could potentially be used. Authorities also plan to evaluate more video footage.

Valeriia is described as being around 1.40 meters tall with dark blonde, medium-length hair. On Monday, she wore a lavender T-shirt, black jeans, a light turquoise jacket, and dark blue ankle-high shoes. She was carrying a pink school bag. The girl can speak broken German.
