Rostock Seawolves are determined to steer clear of last season's nail-biting relegation fight in the Basketball Bundesliga. With their third season in the BBL approaching, sports director Jens Hakanowitz, after a major squad shake-up, declared: "We don't want to be sweating it out until the final game anymore. Our analysis indicates the need for a fresh start."

The club brought in Frenchman Kevin Anstett as sports director. Polish coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz took over from Christian Held as head coach. The recent recruitment of Darnell Brodie has rounded off the squad, boasting seven new professionals. Apart from securing their spot in the top tier, Frasunkiewicz aims to reach the play-ins, which necessitates finishing in the top ten after the regular season.

Training commencement dates back to August 5. They've registered victories in warm-up games against Artland Dragons and in Jena. An additional seven matches are planned. On September 14, the Seawolves will face Hakro Merlins Crailsheim in the German Cup's first competitive encounter. A week later, they will lock horns with MBC for their BBL season debut.

Men and boys within the Rostock community are excited about the upcoming basketball season, as the Rostock Seawolves aim to improve their performance under new sports director Kevin Anstett and head coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz. With the addition of seven new professionals, including Darnell Brodie, the team is hoping to avoid another relegation fight and aim for a spot in the play-ins, which requires finishing in the top ten after the regular season.
