Sea Devils bring in former NFL player as defensive coach

The Hamburg Sea Devils have signed a former NFL professional to their coaching staff for the upcoming season in the European League of Football (ELF). As the Hanseatic team announced on Thursday, Brandon Noble will take care of the team's defensive work as defensive coordinator

The 49-year-old American played in 81 NFL games for the Dallas Cowboys (1999 to 2002) and the current Washington Commanders (2004), 48 of them as a starter. Noble will be one of the most important assistants to head coach Matt Johnson in Hamburg.

"I am very excited to coach the Sea Devils next season," Noble was quoted as saying in a Sea Devils statement. Athletic Director Miguel Book added: "To have someone like him leading our defense is just fantastic. His experience, including in the NFL, will be invaluable in maximizing the potential of our guys."

Next year, 17 teams from nine nations will start the fourth EFL season. The final match will be played on September 24 in the arena of second-division soccer club Schalke 04.

Brandon Noble's NFL background in American Football with the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders will significantly contribute to his role as defensive coordinator for the Hamburg Sea Devils. As a former NFL player, Noble's expertise in the sport is expected to greatly benefit the team during the upcoming European League of Football (ELF) season.
