Free University - Scuffle at FU between Israel and Palestine supporters

There was a scuffle between pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli supporters at Freie Universität Berlin on Thursday. The police were on site at midday with several officers, a spokesperson told the German Press Agency when asked. According to the information provided, there were no major riots and no one was reportedly injured. Around 35 people were present at the scene. According to the spokesperson, several charges of assault were filed. The operation was ended after a short time.

Several media outlets had previously reported an occupation of a lecture hall on the Dahlem campus. The police spokesman said that there had been no occupation. An alliance of FU students called "Students for Free Palestine" had called for an occupation on its Instagram channel. Pictures and videos from a lecture hall were published on the channel on Thursday. They include Palestinian flags and posters with slogans such as "Stop the genocide".
