UEFA European Football Championship - Scotland's national team desires 200 kilograms of ice cream daily.

Scotland kicks off their European Championship preparations with a training session in Bavaria. Head coach Steve Clarke and his squad will get things underway at 11 a.m. on Monday in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Over the weekend, the underdog in Germany's EM group received a warm welcome in the southern German town.

Icy Scottish requests

Scotland is training at the stadion am Gröben, located near their team hotel, Obermühle. The hotel manager, Christian Wolf, spoke to the German Press Agency about their specific requests. "There aren't any complicated or extraordinary demands from them," he said. "However, they have requested the use of about 200 kilograms of ice, not for wine coolers as is typically the case, but for the ice baths of their players in their personal ice tubs."

Scotland is the first opponent for the German national team, led by Julian Nagelsmann, on Friday. Switzerland and Hungary are the other teams in Group A. Scotland is considered the clear underdog in terms of making it out of the group.

Hotel security measures

"We're thrilled to be hosting the team that will face Germany in their homeland in the opening match," said Wolf. During the EM, the hotel will only be accessible to the team and UEFA officials, he added.

"The hotel will be under 24/7 monitoring by UEFA and police stewards," Wolf explained. "All our staff have undergone a security check, and no one can enter the hotel without proper accreditation."

Moving to Munich on Thursday

It's challenging to estimate how many Scottish fans will visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the coming days. Both the hotel and the town are excited about the arrival of the team. Training will continue through Thursday, near the Zugspitze, before heading to Munich. The next match after the game against Germany will take place again on Saturday in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
