The upcoming European Football Championship competition - Scotland's national squad receives a warm welcome in Garmisch.
The town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is delighted to be hosting Germany's first European Championship opponent - the Scottish national team. According to Mayor Elisabeth Koch, having Scotland or Wales as their guest was her personal preference and she is ecstatic that Scotland has chosen Garmisch-Partenkirchen for their visit.
To kick off the event, a "Welcome Evening" is being organized for the team led by national coach Steve Clarke. Then, on June 14th, a massive public viewing party will take place in the Kurpark for their opening match against Germany. They eagerly anticipate the attendance of many Scottish supporters.
The public areas won't have any heightened security measures. Mayor Koch expressed her confidence in the Scottish fans' friendly nature, stating, "The Scottish fans are renowned for their calmness and humor, so there won't be any additional security measures. We will, however, ensure maximum tranquility around the team's hotel."
