Harry Kane was declared the leading scorer of the prior Bundesliga campaign ahead of Bayern Munich's initial home match. The 31-year-old skipper of the English football team earned the "Kicker" magazine's Torjäger-Kanone for netting 36 goals in his inaugural season in the Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena.

"I've got no doubt he'll continue to bag crucial goals for us. Harry Kane is a full-fledged package," stated CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen during Kane's accolade ceremony. The 31-year-old had just been crowned the "Golden Shoe" winner as the top goalscorer across Europe's leagues at the beginning of the week.

Kane was undeniably the most prolific goalscorer in the 2023/24 season. No player had previously managed to score as many goals in their debut campaign in the Bundesliga. Coming in second was Serhou Guirassy, who recently moved to Dortmund, with 28 goals for VfB Stuttgart, followed by Lois Openda (RB Leipzig/24 goals) and German national team players Deniz Undav (VfB Stuttgart/18) and Maximilian Beier (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim/16), who joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Kane's exceptional performance in the Bundesliga didn't go unnoticed, even extending to the upcoming German Bundesliga season. His record-breaking goal tally in his debut campaign made heads turn, sparking curiosity about how he might fare in future seasons.

Following his impressive debut, Kane's name continues to be synonymous with the German Bundesliga's elite scorers, setting a high standard for newcomers in the league.
