Hall - Science cube funded with almost 1.9 million euros

The federal government is supporting the establishment of a competence center for science communication in Halle with almost 1.9 million euros. Minister President Reiner Haseloff (CDU) presented a corresponding funding decision for the so-called Science Cube on Wednesday, as announced by the State Chancellery. The funding comes from a federal program designed to support coal-fired power plant sites, for example.

"We have to explain the structural change and take people with us," explained Haseloff. "Communicating is just as important as investing." The center is intended to facilitate an exchange between scientists as well as a dialogue between science and interested citizens. With its many scientific institutions, Halle is the ideal location for the project, which is being realized by the Halle-based association Science2public.

The CDU-led government in Saxony-Anhalt, with Reiner Haseloff as its president, has secured funding of nearly 1.9 million euros from the federal government for a science communication competence center in Halle, known as the Science Cube. This center underscores Haseloff's belief that communicating the impact of structural changes in science is as vital as investing in research. The Science Cube, intended to foster dialogue between scientists and interested citizens, is an excellent fit for Halle, given its rich concentration of scientific institutions, and is being spearheaded by the local association Science2public.
