Volleyball Bundesliga - Schwerin fights for ninth success in a row against Aachen

SSC Palmberg Schwerin has confirmed its top position in the Volleyball Bundesliga. On Saturday, the team from Mecklenburg defeated the Ladies in Black from Aachen 3:0 (25:18, 31:29, 25:22) in their last home game of the year, thus celebrating their ninth win in their ninth game. Although the game marked the official start to the second half of the season, the SSC will not play its previously postponed first-round game against defending champions Allianz MTV Stuttgart until next Tuesday.

Coach Felix Koslowski's team needed a few rallies to get into the match and even trailed 6:8. A short time later, however, the SSC had clearly pulled away after a 6:0 run and went on to win the set in commanding fashion.

SSC was already 15:12 ahead in the second set, but then ran into problems and had to fend off a set point three times in the dramatic final phase before securing this set as well. In the third set, which was also contested for a long time, the SSC then managed to gain a decisive lead with the point at 22:20 and finally clinched the match with the second match point. After the match, SSC talent Leana Grozer was voted the most valuable player.
