Schwerin coach after cup exit: "It's frustrating"
Coach Felix Koslowski made no secret of his disappointment after his SSC Palmberg Schwerin volleyball players were knocked out of the cup competition. "It's frustrating to be eliminated here, that's for sure," he said on Wednesday evening after the 3-0 defeat in the quarter-finals at Rote Raben Vilsbiburg. For the women from Mecklenburg, the second title dream has thus also been shattered, after they were beaten by champions Stuttgart in the Super Cup.
Bitter from Koslowski's point of view: Last Saturday, his team had won the point match in Vilsbiburg 3:0 and thus maintained its position at the top of the Bundesliga table. Four days later, however, the cup defender was to prove once again that the cup has its own laws. "Vilsbiburg naturally played all or nothing and we had great difficulty getting a grip on their attacking play," said the 39-year-old. "You're playing away from home and the home team is carried by its own fans, whereas we made our own mistakes."
The coach also conceded that there was a lack of substitutes due to personnel absences, but was also combative: "We're looking ahead and want to bounce back in the Bundesliga on Saturday, then the European Cup is coming up - we have to redeem ourselves quickly."
Despite their 3-0 victory in the Bundesliga against Rote Raben Vilsbiburg, SSC Palmberg Schwerin's women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat in the DVV Cup quarter-finals, causing disappointment for coach Felix Koslowski. In the upcoming Bundesliga game on Saturday, Koslowski aims to lead his team to a victory and regain their form for the upcoming European Cup.
